Trekking in Guernsey

The best way to get a feel for the island is to get around on foot to explore the spectacular cliff-top paths, numerous bays, rural lanes and commons. The beaches in St Martin's include Moulin Huet and Petit Port where Pierre Renoir painted some of his famous paintings.

Golf

Guernsey plays host to three golf courses. You can complete 9 holes inland on the Tony Jacklin designed St Pierre Park Golf Club, stroll the 18 holes at the Royal Golf Club in the north of the island or bask on the west course at The Grand Mare Golf Club.

Car Hire

We have a selection of car hire from Hertz, Avis and Europecar who can meet you at the airport or be dropped off at The Bella Luce. We also have preferred rates which are available to our guests.

Cycling

If the sea air wafting through your hair and the great outdoors is more your thing, hire a bicycle to explore Guernsey. Cycleworld offer the Bella Luce preferred rates.

Shopping

If retail therapy is more your thing, enjoy VAT free shopping in St Peter Port. Its range of boutique local shops are the right treasure trove to find that memorable gift. You can lock in those special Guernsey memories, explore the island and take home some stunning local jewellery or a Guernsey pearl which you can select for yourself.

The Arts

Indulge in many of the arts from theatre to music at Beau Sejour Centre. Many shows and performances happen throughout the year such as The Lion King, Blood Brothers, Les Miserables and Joseph. Many street performances entertain the crowds on the seafront in St Peter Port.

Surfing

With 6,000 miles of clear sea stretching out from Guernsey's west coast to the coast of South America, Guernsey enjoys great surf for all levels. With the Channel Islands playing host to the Surfing Championship there is always some talent to watch. Vazon and Portinfer would be the best places to experience surfing. Guernsey has its own surf school. If you're thinking of learning to surf, Guernsey is the perfect location.

We have a good range of personal fitness trainers avaliable who focus on your personal fitness while you are staying with us at the hotel. They can also advise you on your healthy eating plan which we can combine with our kitchen menus.

Sailing / Boat & Yacht Charter

Located in the bay of St Malo sailing has always been a very popular pastime. The Bella Luce has a great relationship with John Frankland whose local pilot books have proved extremely popular with both locals and visitors alike. John's own yacht, a Starlight 35 with a draught of 1.5 metres, is available for charter. Experiences range from the simplest trip to the nearby island of Herm to the more adventurous journey down the west coast of Guernsey.

A fantastic fun way to view the islands of the Bailiwick of Guernsey, you can skim across the surface of local waters, experience the treasured wildlife, senery and places of interest that Guernsey and its surounding islands are famed for. Suitable for all ages.

Outdoor Island Adventures

Guernsey’s delightfully natural environment offers some spectacular outdoor activities and some unforgettable scenery. Outdoor activities can be enjoyed on many levels and include coasteering, kayaking and snorkelling. These activities can be aranged for you through the hotel.

We have a wide range of family activities on the island of Guernsey including Oatlands Village, Sausmarez Manor, Saumarez Park, Island Bowl, Carting Guernsey and Beau Sejour Leisure Centre.

We are happy to arrange Yoga & Pilate's classes or a more personal one-on-one for you at the Bella Luce in order for you to relax, unwind and to work your body, soul and mind. You can improve your flexibility and  tone up after a couple of days at the hotel.
