Walking the Coves and Cliffs of the South Coast

A day walk of moderate difficulty that starts in town and follows the coast path along the south coast past beautiful coves, through dappled woodland (many of which are carpeted in bluebells in late spring) and across rugged cliffs before finishing at the Bella Luce.

Haut Maison Liqueurs

Behind the bar here at the Bella Luce is a shelf dedicated to small bottles bearing a pair of puffins and the St Peter Port harbour tower on their distinctive labels; the produce of local artisan liqueur makers Stephen and Katherine Paine of Haut Maison. We stopped by Haut Maison this spring to learn more about how they produce their wonderful fruit liqueurs and flavoured vodkas.

The History of La Valette Bathing Pools

It's swimming pool season here at the Bella Luce, and whilst many guests enjoy taking a dip either at the pool here or in the sea at one of the calm beaches a short walk from the hotel during their stay, there is one local swimming spot with such wonderful history that we think it’s a must for any keen swimmer visiting Guernsey: La Valette Bathing Pools.

Herm Island’s Ale and Cider Festival
