During these uncertain times caused by the rapid spread of the coronavirus, and on behalf of The Bella Team, I want to reassure guests and customers of our firm commitment to you.
We know that all companies and markets have been affected by the current situation. Travel and supplies to and from the Islands are now also being effected.
The health and safety of all guest and staff is most paramount.
The hotel has been closed for the winter season, and we have liaised with all our staff both overseas and locally, and for their safety and that of our customers we have decided to review our re-opening for the summer season:
We will now re-open May the 1st 2020 and not April 1st as previously planned. We will continue to review and post updates on our website and social media accounts as they arise.
All existing reservations and bookings for April will be contacted ASAP to make alternative arrangements.
All future hotel and restaurant bookings, and general queries should be directed through: [email protected] / 01481 238764

A visit to Guernsey in the run-up to Christmas provides the opportunity for some unique shopping experiences, as the Bailiwick celebrates the festive season in its own special way.
This coming weekend (Friday 18th – Sunday 20th November), celebrations begin in earnest as Castle Cornet hosts its Enchanted Winter Fayre featuring a gingerbread village, craft stalls, Santa’s grotto, food, drink and music with a reduced entry fee of £2.25 for adults and £1.25 for children.
Two weeks later, on the first weekend in December, picturesque St Peter Port gets into the festive spirit with Santa Clause visiting to turn on the town’s beautiful Christmas Lights at an afternoon carol concert in Church Square. St Peter Port offers some wonderful Christmas shopping, particularly on Mansell Street and Mill Street in the Old Quarter or in Market Square, where a weekly Christmas Craft Market will be held each Saturday to compliment Friday’s regular local fresh produce market. On Thursday evenings throughout December, St Peter Port’s shops will also be staying open until 9pm for late night Christmas shopping so there are ample opportunities to take advantage of the fact that there is no VAT and lower duties to pay on goods purchased here.
Whilst St Peter Port provides a rather classic Christmas shopping experience, you can enjoy something a little different over the water on Herm on Saturdays and Sundays in early December with Travel Trident offering free ferry travel for Christmas shopping day trips to our sister island. You can hop on the ferry (weather permitting, at this time of year) and visit the island’s gift shops, or simply take a walk around Herm’s coast and enjoy lunch at the Mermaid Tavern before returning to St Peter Port. Tickets for the free Christmas Shopping ferries are only available on the day of travel and can’t be booked in advance.
We’re still offering our Winter Warmer deal up until December 20th, so you can enjoy three nights bed and breakfast (in a Classic room with a complimentary upgrade if available) and a half hour guided gin tasting experience at the Wheadon’s Gin micro distillery for just £360. Why not join us and take advantage of a free shopping trip to Herm and soak up the festive celebrations in St Peter Port, or enjoy a refreshing walk along the coast path by day before returning to the Bella for dinner and an evening next to the roaring log fire.
