During these uncertain times caused by the rapid spread of the coronavirus, and on behalf of The Bella Team, I want to reassure guests and customers of our firm commitment to you.
We know that all companies and markets have been affected by the current situation. Travel and supplies to and from the Islands are now also being effected.
The health and safety of all guest and staff is most paramount.
The hotel has been closed for the winter season, and we have liaised with all our staff both overseas and locally, and for their safety and that of our customers we have decided to review our re-opening for the summer season:
We will now re-open May the 1st 2020 and not April 1st as previously planned. We will continue to review and post updates on our website and social media accounts as they arise.
All existing reservations and bookings for April will be contacted ASAP to make alternative arrangements.
All future hotel and restaurant bookings, and general queries should be directed through: [email protected] / 01481 238764

Last Saturday, July 8th, we welcomed a sell out crowd to the Bella Luce for Guernsey's inaugural Gin Garden Party, presented by Wheadon's Gin. We couldn't have asked for better weather with beautiful sunshine and blue skies offering guests the opportunity to enjoy the Bella's gardens and poolside area whilst sipping on gin and tonics from our selection of featured craft distilleries. Alongside local favourites Wheadon's and Blue Bottle were some fantastic and flavoursome gins from both the British mainland and further afield, including Cornish gin Caspyn (a London Dry and a cucumber-infused Midsummer gin), Williams Chase, Sipsmith, Bulldog, Brockmans, Whitley Neill and Gin Mare. The Guernsey Oyster Company brought HMS Oyster along to serve oysters that were harvested off Herm that very morning, and many guests embraced the garden party atmosphere by enjoying the Bella Luce's classic afternoon tea. Some wonderful local musicians performed poolside over the course of the afternoon, and the high temperatures prompted many guests to kick off their shoes and dangle their feet in our pool to keep cool. We'd like to thank everybody involved in Guernsey's Gin Garden Party, but most of all we'd like to thank everybody who joined us for the afternoon and made the afternoon so special. Below is a selection of photographs from the afternoon and evening, or you can view a full gallery over on our Facebook page. We'd love to make this an annual event and are already thinking of ways that we can make the 2018 Gin Garden Party even better, so we hope to see you then - if not before!
Following Guernsey's Gin Garden Party head chef Simon McKenzie prepared an incredible five-course tasting menu for our Distiller's Dinner, with each course paired with a wine or unique infusion of Wheadon's Gin distilled for the dinner by Luke Wheadon, and one lucky diner winning a bottle of Wheadon's Gin upon finding a golden ticket hidden beneath their pre-dessert Willy-Wonka inspired lollipop.
